Satte Nachzahlung: Briten sind beleidigt über Rechnung aus Brüssel

Unschöne Nachrichten aus Brüssel – zumindest für die Briten: Großbritannien muss in diesem Jahr rund 1,7 Milliarden Pfund, etwa 2,1 Milliarden Euro, mehr an Brüssel überweisen als ursprünglich berechnet. Weil die britische Wirtschaft seit 1995 stärker gewachsen ist als laut EU-Budgetplanung erwartet, soll London seinen Beitrag zur Finanzierung der Europäischen Union erhöhen. Dies wurde am Donnerstag Abend im Rahmen eines EU-Gipfels bekannt. Wie Großbritannien, so sollen auch die Niederlande mehr an die EU-Kommission zahlen.
